How do I choose and publish a theme?
Pick a ready-made look in five steps, check it against your live store, then publish it. Nothing changes for shoppers until you publish.
Step by step
- Open Store → Design → Theme and style. The screen is called "Store design".
- Step 1, "Getting to know you": say what the store sells and how it should feel (up to three words). You can click "Skip".
- Step 2, "Choose a theme": click one of the recommended themes, or open "All themes" to search by name, mood or style. Preview it on desktop or phone, then click "Next: fit".
- Step 3, "Fit": choose a color palette or your own brand colors, the motion, and the layout of the home page.
- Step 4, "Personal touch" (optional): design your own sections in the theme’s colors. They show on the home page after the theme’s own sections.
- Step 5, "Check and publish": compare "In the store now" with "After publishing" on each page. If something is missing, click "Show what is missing".
- Click "Publish to the store".
A theme is the look of your whole store: the home page, product pages, cart and the rest. Every step saves a draft. Shoppers see nothing new until you click "Publish to the store".
Good to know
- "All themes" is the full library. Each theme comes with several color palettes and is shown on your own products, pictures and texts. "Your own design" is the sections you built in the store editor, as they are.
- Nothing you designed is deleted when you pick a theme. "Back to my design" brings it all back in one click.
- On a product page, the buy box (price, bundles, add to cart) always stays the store’s own. The theme draws what is below it.
- Publishing is blocked while a section you designed is incomplete (a button link, a picture or a video is missing). "Show what is missing" takes you straight to it.
- If you already designed sections and you change the colors, Waise asks whether to change the whole site or only new sections.
Switched by mistake?
Under "Recent switches" in "All themes" click "Undo this switch". The store goes back to what it wore before.
Tip Not sure which theme fits? In step 2 you can describe the look you want to Pulse, for example "minimal, warm beige", and click "Find my theme".
Questions
Will my products and settings change when I switch themes?
No. A theme changes how the store looks. Your products, prices, orders and settings stay as they are.
I clicked around and the store did not change. Why?
Choices save as a draft. The live store changes only after "Publish to the store".
