How do I create a pop-up form?
Show a window that asks visitors for their email and gives them a discount code, on the pages and at the moment you choose.
Step by step
- If the pop-up will give a discount, first create the code under Marketing → Discounts and sales → Discount codes.
- Open Marketing → Automatic mail → Popups and click "+ New popup". A ready example is created for you to edit.
- Under "What the customer sees", edit the heading, text and button, and add a picture if you like.
- Under "What it asks", choose the fields. An email alone is recommended.
- Under "What they get", choose "Discount code" and pick your code.
- Under "Where it appears", choose the page types or specific products or collections. Under "When it appears", choose after a few seconds, after scrolling a percentage, or when the mouse leaves the page.
- Turn on "Active" and click "Save".
- If a pop-up says "On, not showing", it is switched on but its discount code is off, expired or used up, so it is shown to nobody. Fix the code or choose another.
- When several pop-ups fit the same page, only one is shown: the one with the lowest "Priority" number.
- "Do not show again (days)" and "Hide from people who already bought" limit how often a visitor sees it.
- Every submission is saved under Messages, "From the site", with all its fields, the page it came from and the time. You can also turn on an email alert to you and a confirmation email to the sender. Emails need outgoing mail to be set up.
- The pop-up shows how many times it was shown and filled in.
Tip Every extra field is one more reason to close the window. An email alone works best.
