Can I run an online store without buying apps?

Yes, for a small store. Waise builds in reviews, abandoned-cart email, bundles, a customer club and email campaigns, from $29 a month. Shopify and Squarespace include abandoned-cart recovery and BigCommerce includes reviews, but their pricing pages don’t list bundles or a loyalty club, which usually means a paid app.

“Not shown” means the official page we read doesn’t list it. It doesn’t mean it’s impossible; usually an app adds it.

Together $49.99 a month at entry prices, on top of the platform’s plan. The price rises with store size.

What’s in Waise, and the limit

Who this suits, and who it doesn’t

A good fit

  • A small store that would rather have one bill than several subscriptions
  • Someone opening a first store who doesn’t want to shop for apps
  • An owner who wants reviews, bundles and a loyalty club with no add-ons

Pick something else

  • A store that depends on a specialized app: Shopify’s App Store is far larger
  • A merchant already paying little for apps they like
  • A store needing very advanced email automation: Klaviyo goes deeper

Questions

Can I really do without any app?

For a small store, yes. If you rely on a specialized app, say for custom products or a specific ERP link, check first whether there’s an equivalent.

Are there limits on what’s built into Waise?

Yes, by plan: emails, active automations, bundles and offers. What’s already running keeps running; the next one saves as a draft until you upgrade or turn another off.

Why does Shopify show “not shown” for reviews?

Because its price list doesn’t show reviews, bundles or loyalty. That doesn’t mean it can’t be done; it usually means adding an app.
