Which ecommerce platforms charge no transaction fees?
Waise, Ecwid, Big Cartel and self-hosted WooCommerce add no platform transaction fee on any plan, and Wix lists none beyond Wix Payments processing. Shopify adds 0.2–2% unless you use Shopify Payments, BigCommerce 0.6–2% on open providers, and Squarespace 2% on Basic. Card processing, usually about 2.9% + 30¢, applies everywhere.

US list prices in dollars, billed monthly unless stated. BigCommerce charges no fee with embedded providers; the fee applies only with an open provider.
Transaction fee vs card processing
Two different charges hit every sale. Card processing goes to the payment company (usually about 2.9% + 30¢ in the US) and exists on every platform. A transaction fee is the platform’s own surcharge, on top of processing. “No transaction fees” removes only that surcharge.
What it is in one month

Where zero fees still cost money
- Squarespace: digital products carry a separate fee, 7% on Basic and 5% on Core.
- Ecwid: price rises with product count (up to 10 on the cheapest plan).
- Big Cartel: up to 500 products on the top plan.
- WooCommerce: hosting, plus extensions at $29–$299 a year each.
- Waise: no limit on sales, but monthly quotas on email, Pulse conversations and shopper chat.
Who this suits, and who it doesn’t
A good fit
- A store using an outside processor that doesn’t want a surcharge on every sale
- A merchant who wants to pick their processor and negotiate the rate
- An owner who wants one predictable monthly bill
Pick something else
- A US store on Shopify Payments: its fee is already zero, so compare the whole bill
- Someone selling very little who wants to start free: Big Cartel has a free plan for up to 5 products
- Someone comfortable running a server who wants full control: WooCommerce
Questions
If there’s no transaction fee, do I pay nothing on a sale?
You still pay card processing to your payment company. A transaction fee is what the platform adds on top of processing, and that is the part 0% removes.
Can I avoid Shopify’s transaction fee?
Yes, by taking payments through Shopify Payments, where it’s available. With another processor, 2%, 1% or 0.6% applies by plan. In Israel Shopify Payments is not offered, so the fee always applies.
Is WooCommerce really free of fees?
The plugin takes no fee of its own. You pay for hosting, extensions and card processing, and you handle updates and security yourself.
Does Waise have a hidden fee?
Not on sales. You pay the plan and your own processor. Add-ons such as an email pack are charged only if you set a monthly add-on limit first, and the default is zero.
The online store that runs itself, with brakes
- AI that acts, with brakes. Pulse changes orders, prices, discounts and content from one conversation. A sensitive change first shows a before-and-after card and waits for your approval, and almost any change can be undone.
- Your money is protected on the server, not by a promise. Anything touching money needs a confirmation tied to the exact values you saw, and the margin guard blocks a price below your minimum, even when an outside AI asks for it.
- Profit, not just sales. An order counts only once your payment provider confirms the money, and profit is worked out after fees, shipping, cost of goods and refunds.
- Open to your own AI. Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini connect to your store over MCP and pass through exactly the same brakes.
- Five ways to build, one system behind them. A ready theme, designing by chat with Pulse, your own code, outside builders like Lovable or Webflow, or your own AI. Checkout, orders, customers and money stay in one place.
- 0% of your sales. One flat monthly plan. When your store grows, our cut doesn’t, because there isn’t one.
- Built by someone who sold. Or Avrahami, a practical electronics and computer engineer, ran an online store on Shopify and built what that store needed. That became Waise.
