What does WooCommerce really cost a store each month?
A $20,000/month store pays $918.08 a month on WooCommerce, on the Hosting plan, with card processing, fees and tools counted. On Waise Growth the same store pays $759, $159.08 less. The full breakdown at three sales levels follows, with a source and date for every figure.

How WooCommerce charges
- The plugin is free. Hosting is on you: per WooCommerce, $25 to $350 a month for most stores.
- The hosting counted is our assumption: bottom of the range for the small store, the middle for the mid-size one, the top for the large one. It is the biggest swing in this bill, so put in your own.
- WooPayments, US cards: 2.9% + 30¢, with no further platform fee.
- Extensions, the yearly price divided by 12: Product Reviews Pro $79, Dynamic Pricing $129, AutomateWoo $159 a year.
- We don’t count an email sending service. Many stores need one for mail to arrive, on top of hosting.

Where WooCommerce beats Waise
At the three levels we tested, the total here is not below Waise.
- Full control of the code, the hosting and the data.
- The plugin itself has no monthly subscription, and you can choose any host.
Who this suits, and who it doesn’t
A good fit
- You don’t want to maintain a site, updates and backups.
- You want everything in one monthly price.
Pick something else
- You have a developer and want full control.
- Your site is already on WordPress.
Questions
Is WooCommerce free?
The plugin is free. Hosting, paid extensions and card processing cost money, and they are most of the bill.
Does WooCommerce have a transaction fee?
None from the platform. With WooPayments you pay the card rate alone.
How did you pick a hosting price?
From the range WooCommerce itself publishes: bottom, middle and top, by store size. It is our assumption and yours may differ.
The online store that runs itself, with brakes
- AI that acts, with brakes. Pulse changes orders, prices, discounts and content from one conversation. A sensitive change first shows a before-and-after card and waits for your approval, and almost any change can be undone.
- Your money is protected on the server, not by a promise. Anything touching money needs a confirmation tied to the exact values you saw, and the margin guard blocks a price below your minimum, even when an outside AI asks for it.
- Profit, not just sales. An order counts only once your payment provider confirms the money, and profit is worked out after fees, shipping, cost of goods and refunds.
- Open to your own AI. Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini connect to your store over MCP and pass through exactly the same brakes.
- Five ways to build, one system behind them. A ready theme, designing by chat with Pulse, your own code, outside builders like Lovable or Webflow, or your own AI. Checkout, orders, customers and money stay in one place.
- 0% of your sales. One flat monthly plan. When your store grows, our cut doesn’t, because there isn’t one.
- Built by someone who sold. Or Avrahami, a practical electronics and computer engineer, ran an online store on Shopify and built what that store needed. That became Waise.
