How do I get a domain name?
Check whether a name is free, buy it at a domain registrar, then come back and connect it to your store.
Buying a domain straight from Waise isn’t open yet. You buy it from a domain registrar, which usually takes a few minutes and costs about $10 to $20 a year, and then connect it to your store here.
Check that a name is free
- Open Settings, then Domain and business mail.
- In the box No address yet? Check if one is free, type a name such as my-shop.com and press Test.
- Waise answers that the name is free or that it is taken. For some endings it can’t check from here, and says to check at a registrar.
Then buy and connect
- Buy the name at a registrar. Where the screen shows a link to buy a domain, it opens a registrar for you.
- Come back to Waise and follow How do I connect my own domain?.
Tip You don’t have to wait. Your store works on its free Waise address meanwhile, and you can connect the domain later.
For an Israeli .il ending, buy it from an Israeli domain registrar and then connect it here the same way.
Questions
Which registrars can I use?
Any registrar works. Waise has ready-made steps for GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, Squarespace, Wix and Porkbun, and general steps for any other.
