What does Pulse remember, and how do I clear it?

Pulse keeps a short list of facts about your business and reads it in every chat. You can read, fix and delete every one.

Step by step

  1. Open Pulse from the sidebar (Settings, then Connections, then Pulse) and choose the "Business memory" tab.
  2. To add a fact, type it in the box ("For example: our audience is 50+, we write plainly and warmly"), choose its type, and press the add button.
  3. To change a fact, press the pencil icon on its row, edit the text, and press the save button to keep it. Press "Cancel" to leave it as it was.
  4. To delete a fact, press the bin icon on its row. A "Fact deleted" note appears for a few seconds with a "Cancel" button that puts it back.

Pulse does not learn silently. What it remembers about your business is a list of facts on the "Business memory" tab: your audience, supplier terms, how you like to write, and rules such as "never go below 20% margin". Pulse reads the whole list in every conversation.

How a fact gets there

Each fact has a type: "About the business", "Style and tone", "Rule to keep", "About a product" or "Other". When the list grows past a few items you can filter by type. The list holds up to 200 facts; at 200 you delete one to add another.

Past conversations

Your chats with Pulse are listed under "Previous conversations". You can rename, pin or delete a chat from its actions menu. Deleting a chat cannot be undone. Under the privacy policy, a Pulse conversation is kept for 365 days after its last message unless you pinned it.

Tip Your Pulse changes are logged separately, so deleting a conversation does not remove the record of a change Pulse made.

Questions

Can Pulse remember something without telling me?

No. Everything it remembers about the business is on the tab, and you can read, fix and delete each fact.

Who can edit the memory?

People whose role allows it. The add, edit and delete controls only show for them.
