How do I add a team member and choose what they can do?
Invite people by email, give each the narrowest role that fits, and change or remove access any time.
Step by step
- Go to Settings, then Team and security, then "Team and permissions".
- Press "+ New user" (or "Invite someone to the team" if you are alone).
- Fill in "Full name" and "Email". The invitation goes to that address.
- Under "What will they be able to do?" choose a role. Start with the narrowest role that works.
- Press "Send invitation". The person picks their own username and password and signs in.
The invitation link works once and is valid for 7 days. Until the person joins, it is listed under "Pending invitations", where you can "Resend" or "Cancel" it. If email sending is not set up, Waise shows the link so you can pass it on yourself.
Prefer to set the password yourself? Choose "Create a user manually", fill in username and password ("Generate password" makes one), and give the person the sign-in address, the username and the password.
Roles
A role is what a person may see and do. Two come with the store: "Administrator" (full access) and a worker role that can view and edit orders only. To make your own, open the "Roles" panel, press "New role", give it a name (for example warehouse or customer service), tick what it may do and press "Create role". Permissions are grouped: orders, catalog, customers, content and marketing, reports, and system. "Full access" includes any permission added in future, so keep it for the owner.
Note Changing a role's permissions, or moving a person to another role, applies at once and signs out the people affected. They sign back in with the new access. A role that people hold cannot be deleted; move them to another role first.
Changing or removing a person
Open a person's row and press "Details" to change the name, username, email, Google email or password. Each update signs that person out. "Delete user" removes them for good; you cannot delete yourself. The owner is shown as "Signs in with Waise".
How many people
Team seats depend on your plan: 2 on Basic, 5 on Growth, 15 on Pro, and no limit on Company. Past your plan's seats, a new invitation is refused with a message that names the upgrade; people already on the team keep access.
Every change to people and roles is recorded in the Security log.
Questions
Can a team member see my billing or payment details?
Only if their role includes the system permissions. Narrow roles such as the worker role are limited to orders.
