How do I get my store recommended by ChatGPT and other AI assistants?
The AI engines screen scores how ready your store is for assistants like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude, and shows what to fix next.
More shoppers ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude what to buy. This is called generative engine optimization (GEO). Open Marketing → AI engines (GEO) to see whether your store is ready to appear in those answers, and what is missing. It builds on Google search: the same product description serves both.
The three tabs
- Overview: a readiness score out of 100, the next step that raises it most, a checklist, the products an assistant could quote and what each is missing, ready questions to try in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude, and how many visits, orders and revenue came from assistants in the last 30 days.
- Addresses: every product, category, article and page, with the line assistants read, short facts, and whether to show it to assistants. Use the "Can improve" filter to find the weak ones.
- Settings: which crawlers are allowed, the shop profile, the questions your shop answers, links to your shop elsewhere, and what goes into llms.txt.
Where to start
- Write the sentence that describes your store (what you sell, for whom, what is special) and save.
- Switch on "Live catalogue for assistants", so an assistant can see current price and stock.
- Open the "Can improve" filter, click a product, complete the line assistants read and save.
- Add contact details, questions and answers, a delivery time and at least a few reviews. The checklist shows what counts.
Crawlers and AI shopping agents
- Your robots.txt welcomes the crawlers of the main assistants. In Settings you can choose "Open to all" or "Block model training only". Blocking training does not take your store out of assistants’ answers.
- "Let AI shopping agents find and buy from your store" is a switch. When it is on, agents such as ChatGPT can see live price and stock, build a basket and buy. When it is off, they see only names and descriptions.
- Waise builds llms.txt and the other files assistants read from your products, categories, articles and policies, and keeps them up to date. There is nothing to upload. Until your store is live to the public, these files are not served.
Tip Assistants update slowly. After a change it can take days to weeks before it shows in their answers.
Questions
Can I promise my store will be recommended?
No. The score shows how ready the store is. Whether an assistant names your store is up to the assistant.
