How do I connect a payment processor?

Connect Stripe in one click (US stores) or pick an Israeli processor (Israeli stores) so shoppers can pay by card.

Step by step

  1. Open Settings, then Payments.
  2. US store: under Stripe, press Connect with Stripe. Sign in to your Stripe account, or open one there in a few minutes.
  3. Follow Stripe’s pages and come back to Waise. The screen now says Connected to Stripe as your account name, with a Live or Test mode tag.
  4. If you see Stripe hasn’t turned on payments for this account yet, finish your business and bank details in your Stripe dashboard (the Stripe dashboard button opens it). Checkout starts taking payments as soon as Stripe approves.
  5. Israeli store: pick a company tile (HYP, Grow, PayPlus, Tranzila, Cardcom or iCredit), fill in the details it asks for, press Connection test, then press Charge through that company.
  6. Open your store and make one test purchase to see the whole path through to the order. See How do I place a test order?.

What a US store can connect

Stripe is the card processor for stores outside Israel. It covers cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and pay later, and it shows each shopper the methods that suit them, from the ones you turned on in your Stripe account. There is nothing to set up on the Waise side. To turn methods on or off, use Turn payment methods on or off in Stripe.

If you prefer, you can connect your own Stripe account with its API keys instead: open Advanced: use my own API keys, paste the secret key and press Connection test. The store registers its own webhook in Stripe for you.

Beside Stripe, the one thing worth adding is PayPal, because many shoppers prefer it. See How do I add PayPal, bank transfer or cash?.

What an Israeli store can connect

Israeli stores charge in shekels through one of these companies: HYP, Grow (directly, or Grow through Make with the payment page inside your site), PayPlus, Tranzila, Cardcom or iCredit. Picking a tile only shows its details. Checkout moves to that company when you press Charge through, and only once the details it needs are in. If something is missing, the screen lists what.

Tip A tile marked Test mode only for now takes test payments only. It goes live for charging after Waise verifies that processor.

Where the money goes

Shoppers pay into your own processor account. Waise never holds or touches that money. Switching processors only affects new checkouts: a shopper already on a payment page finishes with the company they started with.

Note Pressing Disconnect on Stripe stops card payments until you connect again. Shoppers can’t pay by card in between.

Questions

Can I connect Stripe if my store is in Israel?

No. An Israeli store sees the Israeli processors (HYP, Grow, PayPlus, Tranzila, Cardcom, iCredit). Stripe is offered to stores that charge in other currencies.

Who can connect Stripe?

Only the store owner. If a team member tries, Waise says only the store owner can connect Stripe.

Do I need to pay Waise a fee on each order?

No. Waise charges no fee on orders on any plan. Your processor still charges its own fees, set in your agreement with it.
