How do I print or buy shipping labels?

Print a label from an order, or connect Shippo to buy USPS, UPS and FedEx labels. Shippo charges the label cost to your own account.

For stores in the US

Step by step

  1. Open Sales → Shipping → Shipping labels. The screen lists paid orders that are waiting to ship. To print one order, open it and choose More → Print label.
  2. If you want an item list with each label, tick Add a packing slip (the item list) after each label.
  3. Choose Print. In the print window, pick a label printer and a 10 x 15 cm (100 x 150 mm) paper size. On a regular printer you can print on A4 and cut.
  4. Stick the label on the parcel, hand it to the carrier, then enter the carrier's tracking number on the order. See Ship an order.

The label Waise prints is a 10 x 15 cm sheet for each order, with the order number as a barcode. The barcode lets you scan the parcel on the Packing and scanning screen.

Buying carrier labels with Shippo (US)

Shippo is a service that sells USPS, UPS and FedEx labels at discounted rates. You use your own Shippo account. The label cost is charged to your Shippo account, not to Waise.

  1. Create a Shippo account. In the Shippo portal, go to API Configuration, Developer keys and create a test key.
  2. In Waise, open Settings → Shipping methods → Courier and tracking. Under Shipping carrier, turn on Shippo.
  3. Paste the Shippo API key and choose Test connection. If you like, set Your usual box (inches), for example 10x8x4.
  4. Make sure your business street address, city, state and ZIP are saved in the store details. Labels use them as the sender address.
  5. On the Shipping labels screen, choose Review prices and buy labels. For each order you see the service the shopper paid for, the service Waise will buy, the carrier and estimated time, and the price.
  6. Choose Confirm purchase, then confirm. Nothing is bought until you do. A purchase cannot be undone from Waise.

The tracking number comes back by itself and is saved on the order.

Note A key that starts with shippo_test_ makes free sample labels, and no real courier comes. Test mode is on until you turn it off. If you turn it off and Waise says the carrier has not been verified with a real shipment yet, live labels are not switched on for your store. You can stay in test mode, or buy the label in your carrier's own website and enter the tracking number on the order.

Questions

Do I need Shippo to ship?

No. Without a carrier connected, you print the Waise label or buy a label elsewhere, and type the tracking number on the order. Shippo only adds buying the label inside Waise.

The label says the sender details are missing.

The sender details come from your business details. Choose Complete the business details and fill in what is listed, such as street, city, state and ZIP.
