How do I get my store's policy pages?

Waise writes terms, refund, shipping, privacy and other policy pages from your settings and keeps them up to date. You stay responsible for them.

Step by step

  1. Open Law and policies. The top of the screen counts how many checks are in order; press "Fix" on any that are not.
  2. In "Store policies", under "Where the texts come from", choose "Waise ready-made policies".
  3. Set your return window ("Return window (days)"), your business type, and a warranty if you give one.
  4. Under "What applies to your business", tick what fits: health or wellness products, electrical or battery products, shipping from abroad, and products that cannot be returned once opened.
  5. Read the notice "Important: who is responsible for the policies", tick "I have read and understood", and press "Save and update the policies".

Waise prepares full texts for your store's situation: the country your business is registered in, the countries your shipping methods deliver to, the kind of products, your return window and your shipping. They update themselves whenever those settings change. Your business name, ID number, address, phone and email come from Settings, "Store details"; shipping comes from your shipping methods.

The pages you get

A store outside Israel gets, in English: Terms of Service, Refund & Return Policy, Cancel an Order, Shipping Policy, Privacy Policy, Accessibility Statement and Contact Us, plus a Medical Disclaimer if you tick the health option. An Israeli store gets the matching Hebrew pages. The storefront already links to them from the footer, checkout and emails.

Laws by country

The sections follow your country and the countries you ship to. Add a country in shipping and its mandatory buyer rights are written in automatically. For example, shipping to the EU adds the withdrawal notice, and buyers can cancel online on a "/withdraw" form on your store. The screen lists which laws the texts were written against under "Which laws the texts were written against".

Edited pages and your own texts

Each page shows its state: "Up to date with the settings", marked as edited by hand and not updated automatically, or "Not created yet". If you edit a page by hand, Waise stops updating that page. Use "Restore the ready-made text" to go back (it replaces your edits) or "Create" for a missing page. If you would rather write everything, choose "My own policies": you write or paste the texts into the pages and Waise never touches them.

Note The texts are a template, not legal advice. Waise is not a party to the sale between you and your shoppers and is not responsible for the content of the policies, their accuracy or their fit for your business. Checking and adapting them, and complying with the law, is your responsibility. A lawyer's review is strongly recommended.

If there is a security incident

The same screen has a short procedure: change passwords and keys, document what happened, contact the Waise team through Pulse's "Talk to a person", and tell your payment company at once if payment details were exposed. For a US store it also reminds you that all 50 states have breach-notification laws.

Questions

Do I have to use Waise's texts?

No. Choose "My own policies" and write your own.

Why did a policy page stop changing when I update my settings?

You probably edited that page by hand. Its state reads marked as edited by hand and not updated automatically. Press "Restore the ready-made text" to let Waise update it again.
