What does the "Waise earns you" figure count?
The card on your Today screen adds up only purchases that followed a real Pulse action. Here is exactly what counts and what does not.
On your Today screen ("Waiting for me") a card says how much came in this month because of Pulse, next to what Waise cost you. It reads "This month Pulse brought in" and the amount. Open "Where the number comes from" on the card to see the lines behind it.
What counts
A purchase counts only if the same shopper bought after a real Pulse action, inside a time window. An ordinary purchase with no such action before it is not credited. The card has five lines:
- Recovered carts: the shopper left a cart, a reminder was really sent for it, and they then bought.
- Customers back within 7 days of our message: the shopper was sent a marketing email (not an email about an order) in the 7 days before they bought.
- Customers who bought within 24 hours of a chat with Pulse: the same shopper chatted with Pulse in the store and bought within 24 hours.
- Purchases after a product or price change you approved: you approved a change to a product, its price or a discount, and the order contains that product within 7 days after.
- Cart upsell: only the items that match a cart offer at the offer’s own price, so the shopper really took the offer.
Each order is counted once, in the order of the list above, under the first line it fits.
What never counts
- Orders that are unpaid, cancelled, test orders, or brought over from another system.
- Refunded money and sales tax. Each order counts at what is left after both.
- Orders in a currency other than your store’s.
Estimates are kept apart
Two other amounts can appear under "and saved you". They are estimates, labeled "Estimated", and they are never added to the number above:
- Margin kept by the margin guard: price changes the guard refused and you did not override, valued by what then sold.
- Apps you did not buy: what a store would pay at list price for the app features your plan already includes.
Next to the amount, the card shows what Waise cost you, which is your plan at list price plus any per-order fees. When the month earned more than it cost, it also shows how many times over.
When the card looks different
- "Pulse is ready, but the reminders are not going out": you have not connected email yet, so reminders are written and never sent. The button "Connect email · 2 min" takes you to the fix.
- "Pulse is on it": a store in its first month shows how many carts are being watched and how many reminders are on, until the first purchase is measured.
- A month that cost more than it brought in is shown as it is.
Questions
Why is my number zero?
Either no purchase followed a Pulse action yet, or reminders are not going out because email is not connected. Connect email, switch on abandoned-cart emails and the measuring starts with the first cart that comes back.
Could some of these customers have bought anyway?
Yes. The card counts purchases that followed a real action. It cannot prove the shopper would not have bought without it.
