Who ships a product: me or a fulfilment partner?
Each product is shipped by you or by a fulfilment partner, such as a dropshipping supplier or a fulfilment center. You set it on the product screen.
On the product screen, the Who ships the product card is for you only. It is not shown in the store.
- Self-fulfilled: you pack and ship from your own stock. With Count stock on, stock goes down with each sale and the product is blocked when it runs out. With it off, the product sells without a limit.
- Fulfilment partner: a dropshipping supplier or a fulfilment center ships for you. Choose the partner from the list, or add a New partner. Orders are passed to them.
When a partner holds your stock in a fulfilment center, stock is counted as usual and you can choose to Count stock at the fulfilment center. When a dropshipping partner holds the stock, the product sells without a limit.
Fields that change with a partner
- Cost per unit becomes Partner price, and SKU becomes Partner SKU. The partner's SKU is the code that goes on the transfer sheet.
- Notes for the partner: a free line such as pack without an invoice, or include a thank-you card.
- Shipping per unit - default: used for any option that has no per-unit shipping of its own.
How many partners your plan includes is listed in Plans and pricing. Orders for each supplier are gathered under Settings → Shipping methods → Fulfilment partners.
