How do I add a product?
Choose New product, fill in the name, price and photos, then press Publish. A new product starts as a draft, so shoppers do not see it until you publish.
Step by step
- Open Store → Products and choose New product. The product opens at once as a draft.
- Under Product details, write the Product name and the Description. The description is shown on the product page, under the name.
- Check the URL handle. It is the end of the product address, after /products/.
- Under Price, cost and stock, set the Price. Add the Cost per unit too, so reports can show your profit.
- If you count stock, turn on Count stock under Who ships the product, then enter the quantity.
- Under Images, add photos. The first one is the main photo.
- Choose Publish at the top. The product goes live in your store.
Every product is one page in your store. Fields you do not fill in stay empty, and Waise will not invent them.
What is on the product screen
- Product details: name, description and page address.
- Who ships the product: you, or a fulfilment partner. See Who ships a product.
- Price, cost and stock: for every option of the product, the Price, the Cost per unit, the SKU, and the stock. Outside Israel you can also set a barcode (UPC or EAN) and the weight, which is used for weight-based shipping prices. Compare-at price and shipping per unit are under the "+" link on each option. See Options and stock.
- Sales tax (outside Israel, for example in the US): a switch, Charge sales tax. Untick it for items your states do not tax. An optional Stripe tax code is also there.
- Offers and deals: quantity offers such as buy more, pay less, and a cart upsell.
- Images: see Add photos and video to a product.
- Publishing and filing: status, vendor or brand, tags, page template, and the SEO title and description.
Nothing is saved until you choose Publish or Save at the top of the screen. Cost tiers are the exception: they save at once.
Tip Under More at the top, View shop opens the product page. Even a draft opens there, and only you see it. A shopper who reaches the address of a draft sees "not found".
Questions
Do I have to fill in the cost?
No, but without a cost no report can say how much you earned, only how much you sold. You can fill costs for all products at once. See Product costs.
Waise says Below the minimum multiplier when I save.
Your store has a minimum multiplier: the price divided by the cost, 3 by default. When a price, an offer or a coupon would take a sale below it, Waise stops and asks. You can cancel and fix the price or the cost, or write a reason and choose Save anyway. The reason is logged.
