How do I open my store?
Create your account, answer a few questions in the setup wizard and press Publish. You can skip most steps and finish them later.
Step by step
- Go to waise.app and choose Open a store.
- Enter your email and a password of at least 10 characters, tick the box that accepts the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy, and choose Continue.
- If Waise asks you to confirm your email, type the 6-digit code it sent you and choose Verify and open my store.
- Wait a few seconds while your store opens. The setup wizard starts on its own.
- Under Where is your business?, choose your country (and your state in the US). Then choose how to start: A new store, I already have a store, or I built my site with another tool.
- Under Tell me about your business, write a sentence or two about what you sell. Pulse suggests a store name and three designs. Pick one.
- Add your products: drop in photos, then check the name and set a price for each one.
- Go through business details, shipping, payments and policies. Each has a skip option and can be finished later.
- On Review and publish, check your store address, accept the terms and choose Publish.
The setup wizard takes you from an empty account to a store that is live. It runs full screen, shows one thing at a time and saves what you type a moment later. You can close it and come back on any device: it opens on the screen you left.
What the wizard asks, in order
- Where your business is. This sets the currency, language and tax. A US store uses dollars, English and sales tax by state. An Israeli store uses shekels, Hebrew and VAT.
- About your business. Your sentence, the store name and the design.
- Products. Photos, names and prices. You can also move products over from Shopify or WooCommerce here.
- Business details. Legal name, address, phone, email and logo. These go into your policies and the footer of your store.
- Shipping. At least one method, with a price and a delivery time.
- Payments. How shoppers pay you.
- Policies. Waise writes terms, privacy, shipping and returns pages with your details. You read them and confirm that they are yours to answer for.
If you skip business details, shipping or payments, the store still opens, but in preview mode: shoppers can look around and fill a cart, and checkout collects their details instead of taking money. See Why does checkout ask for details instead of payment?.
Your store address
Waise gives your store a temporary address. On the last screen you can choose your own, using letters, numbers and hyphens (3 to 30 characters). Once you publish, that address stays fixed. To use your own domain later, see Connect your own domain.
After you publish
The wizard ends on a screen called Your store is live, with a list called Keep setting up together. It shows what is still open. See Keep setting up after you publish.
Tip Not sure what is left before real orders? Open the setup checklist in the top bar. Launch checklist explains it.
Questions
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. The sign-up page offers a free trial with no credit card to start. If Waise billing is switched on for your store, you save a card with Waise before shoppers can pay. See The free trial and your first orders.
Can I leave the wizard and come back?
Yes. Everything you type is saved, and you can choose Save and exit. When you come back, on any device, the wizard opens on the same screen.
Can I skip a step?
Business details, shipping, payments and policies can each be skipped for now. Before you publish, Waise asks you only to accept the terms of use and confirm the policies.
